SoCal Wildfires: Governor Newsom issued an order authorizing waivers for Californians impacted by the firestorms in the Los Angeles area. To assist in expediting the recovery, we have streamlined many services. See the Governor’s Executive Order (PDF).

DMV is in the community at local Disaster Recovery Centers in Pasadena and Los Angeles to assist in person. See the current DRC list.

Replacement items are generally delivered by mail. Update the US Postal Service with the correct address to forward your mail.

The DMV is here to help you get back on the road to recovery.

Before you begin:

  • Gather the following information / documents:

    • Your driver’s license or identification card.
    • The last 5 digits of your vehicle identification number (VIN) or hull identification number (HIN) for a vessel/boat.
    • The vehicle license plate number.
