Popular and convenient kiosks are popping up in more locations  
 

Sacramento – Renew your vehicle registration while checking out your favorite book at the Carmichael Library using a DMV Now Self-Service Terminal located at 5605 Marconi Avenue in Carmichael.

The popular kiosk, which issues a registration card and license plate sticker on the spot, accepts credit/debit cards and is available Tuesday through Sunday during library hours. Individuals must have their vehicle registration renewal notice or most recent vehicle registration card to conduct a transaction.

DMV Now Self-Service Terminals were recently installed at the Sacramento Central Library* and DMV field offices in FairfieldRocklin and Tracy. They are now available at 116 locations throughout the state, including grocery stores and AAA auto clubs in San Jose, San Francisco and Fresno. The DMV plans to have as many as 165 kiosks available statewide by the end of the year.

Customers are reminded that many transactions can be completed online, such as driver license or vehicle registration renewal, vehicle transfer, release of liability, change of address and more. Online services also allow users to schedule an appointment and fill out the electronic driver license application before visiting a field office.

* The kiosk located at the Safeway in midtown Sacramento does not accept cash. The kiosk at the Sacramento Central Library will start accepting cash at the end of September.
