Required FormsPDF Version

Wholesale-Only Dealers

Upon license renewal, a $50,000 Bond Exemption Application (OL 56) and the Continuing Education Exemption Application (OL 257) must be submitted with each and every renewal when indicated on the pre-printed form.

Procedure

The OL 56 was revised in March 2007 and the OL 257 in June 2006 to reflect the Wholesale Reports of Sale used for the renewal period prior to the application date of renewal. Submit only the latest versions of the OL 56 and OL 257. Failure to submit the appropriate forms will result in the application being returned by the Occupational Licensing (OL) office as an incomplete renewal.

The OL 56 is accessible at http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/ol/ol56.pdf
The OL 257 is accessible at http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/ol/ol257.pdf

Background

The OL 56 and OL 257 were explicitly revised to ensure the renewal applicant continues to qualify for the $50,000 Bond Exemption and the Continuing Education Exemption. A number of wholesale-only dealers fail to submit the appropriate revised OL 56 or the OL 257 with their renewal. Prior versions of these forms do not reflect oversight changes and are not acceptable.
