  • DMV’s El Cerrito Office Temporarily Closing for Renovation (February 21, 2025)
    Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced that the El Cerrito office at 6400 Manila Ave. will be temporarily closing for the replacement of its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, February 28. The office is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, May 12.
  • Reedley DMV Office to Reopen February 26 at New Location

    Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced that the Reedley office will reopen at its new location, 1890 E. Dinuba Ave., at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26.
  • DMV to Relocate San Francisco Driver Safety Office
    (February 14, 2025)
    Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced that it is closing its Driver Safety Office (DSO) in San Francisco at 1377 Fell St., 2nd Floor, at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 21. The office will relocate to 395 Oyster Point Blvd., Suite 321, South San Francisco and open at 8 a.m. on Monday, February 24.
  • DMV’s Petaluma Office Temporarily Closing for Renovation

    Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced that the Petaluma office at 715 Southpoint Blvd., Suite J, will be temporarily closing for painting and floor replacement beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, February 21. The office is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, March 10.
  • DMV Inglewood Office Closes Due to Water Damage

    Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced that the Inglewood office at 621 N. La Brea Ave. will be closing at noon, today, Tuesday, February 11. The department is starting the process to build a new modern facility that will better serve the needs of the growing community.

    Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced that 18.6 million Californians now have a REAL ID as of February 1, 2025 – an increase of 169,116 from January 2025.
  • Over 4 Million Test Miles Logged by Autonomous Vehicle Permit Holders in California

    Sacramento – Autonomous vehicles under testing permits have collectively covered over 4 million miles on California’s public roads from December 1, 2023, to November 30, 2024, the California Department of Motor Vehicles announced today.

    Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced that the Reedley office at 558 E. Dinuba Ave. will close beginning at 12 p.m. Friday, February 7. The office will reopen at a new location, 1890 E. Dinuba Ave., at 9 a.m. Wednesday, February 26.

    Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced that as of January 1, 2025, more than 18.5 million Californians have upgraded to a REAL ID, an increase of 118,056 from December 2024.
  • More DMV Customers to Complete Business Online Only

    Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles today announced that industry business customers, including registration services and vehicle dealerships, currently “posting fees” (a type of payment-only transaction) at an Industry Business Center (IBC) or other DMV office will instead be required to use the DMV’s Vehicle Industry Services online channel.
